South Hills Country Club Wedding | Kirsten & Shravan

West Covina, CA

Kirsten and Shravan's wedding at South Hills Country Club in West Covina, California

There's something special about a wedding where everything just falls into place. The weather, the light, the love. Kirsten and Shravan's wedding at South Hills Country Club in West Covina was exactly that kind of day.

I first met Kirsten and Shravan through mutual friends from my college days. Both are now successful doctors, and their story is one of ambition, dedication, and deep love for each other. When they reached out about capturing their wedding day, I knew it was going to be something special. Fun fact: this West Covina celebration was just the beginning. They're also having a wedding celebration in India in March. Two countries, one beautiful love story.

Why South Hills Country Club is Perfect for Weddings

South Hills Country Club in West Covina is one of those venues that photographers dream about. The sprawling golf course provides endless backdrops, from manicured greens to stunning water features. The Spanish-inspired architecture offers beautiful covered areas for ceremonies, and the ballroom reception space is elegant without being stuffy.

For couples searching for a San Gabriel Valley wedding venue or golf course wedding location in Los Angeles, South Hills should definitely be on your list.

An Intimate First Look

The day began with a private first look between Kirsten and Shravan. Shravan looked incredibly sharp in his black velvet tuxedo, and when Kirsten appeared in her elegant off-the-shoulder white gown, the emotion was palpable.

First looks are one of my favorite moments to capture as a wedding photographer. They're raw, unscripted, and full of genuine emotion. This one did not disappoint.

A Ceremony Straight from the Heart

The Western-style ceremony was officiated by Kirsten's uncle, which added a deeply personal touch to the celebration. But what truly set this ceremony apart was the vows.

Neither Kirsten nor Shravan used notes. They either memorized their vows or spoke directly from the heart, and honestly, I think it was the latter. There wasn't a dry eye in the house, and as someone who has photographed countless ceremonies, I can tell you that this level of authenticity is rare and beautiful.

Golden Hour Portraits on the Golf Course

After the ceremony, we grabbed golf carts and headed out to the course. The timing was perfect. Golden hour light was pouring across the greens, and we found a stunning spot near the water feature.

One thing I loved about working with Kirsten and Shravan: they were completely open to my creative direction. Kirsten kicked off her heels and ran through the grass with us. She sat on the lawn in her wedding dress without hesitation. We even had Shravan laying in her lap for some intimate shots.

When couples trust their photographer's vision, the results speak for themselves. These portraits are some of my favorites from the entire year.

The Reception

The reception took place in South Hills' beautiful ballroom. The evening included a romantic first dance, heartfelt speeches from family members, and a surprise performance from the groom and groomsmen that had everyone on their feet.

The bouquet toss brought the expected chaos and joy, and from there, the dance floor never emptied. It was the kind of celebration where you could feel the love radiating from every corner of the room.

More Than Photos: Capturing Memories That Last

As a wedding photographer, I'm not here to deliver the highest resolution image or the most technically perfect shot. What I'm really creating is nostalgia. A feeling. A way for couples to relive the best day of their lives, over and over again.

Kirsten and Shravan trusted me with their memories, and I hope these images bring them back to that perfect January day, the sunshine after the rain, the vows from the heart, the laughter, the love, for years to come.
